One Way Love Review & Giveaway

Welcome to our Fun Friday-Week 8 of giveaways!  Week 8, ya'll!  I love it!  After this I have just one more book to give away and then we are moving on to some other great products.  This book review came at just the perfect time and I cannot wait to share it with you.  Since most of my reviews lately have centered on curriculum and kids, I was excited to get to read one just for me on God's amazing Grace!

The Good News of God's inexhaustible grace for an exhausted world has never been more urgent. (p.20)

One Way Love by Tullian Tchividjian is a 240 page powerful book simply about Grace.  I mean POWERFUL!  As in as soon as I started reading I hopped back up and grabbed my highlighter and started highlighting.  Since I cannot fill this review with quotes, you will just have to read it for yourself, I will highlight just a few that made me stop and think:

-The hub of Christianity is not 'do something for Jesus'.  The hub is of Christianity is 'Jesus did everything for you.' p.21
-The wonderful truth is that Jesus does not need perfect vessels to accomplish His will. p. 114
-The tragic and ironic thing about legalism is that it not only doesn't make people work harder, it makes them give up. p 193

You see, Tullian knows first hand about Grace- God's and that from others.  He spent his teen years in rebellion against everything he was taught being brought up.  A pretty BIG deal for us all, but a really BIG deal for a grandson of Billy and Ruth Graham.  Yes, THAT Billy Graham.  One of my favorite stories he tells is of his grandmother actually bringing him earrings when everyone else was lecturing him about wearing them...in both ears!  While others quoted the Law, his grandmother showed him the grace and love she and her husband preached!  Can you even imagine the boldness that took from her?  Can you even imagine the love he felt from such a simple thing?

That IS how it is with God's grace!  Such a simple thing and yet we tend to make it so hard and we tend to withhold it as much as we can.  Like Tullian says,  "...that's the curious thing about the law and judgement in general: it can tell us who we are, it can tell us the right thing to do, but it cannot inspire us to do that thing or be that person. p 46

You can read a sample of the book or just take my word for it!  Each of the 10 chapters are centered around a different episode of Jesus' ministry.  Sprinkled with a few personal experiences and a lot of scripture, it is sure to hold your interest and get you to reevaluate how you view Grace.

In addition I have a copy of One Way Love to giveaway to one of you.  Simply click on the rafflecopter below for your chance to win.  This one will be open for 10 days so make sure to spread the word.

Blessings,
